1. Who is COPA accredited with?
Higher Education:

(3 year Diploma in Music) [SAQA ID: 96373]

Campus of Performing Arts (PTY) Ltd is provisionally registered with the Department of Higher Education and Training until 31 December 2018 as a private higher education institution under the Higher Education Act, 1997. Registration certificate No.2011/HE07/004. Accreditation for the COPA’s Higher Education programmes are by the Council on Higher Education (CHE).

COPA is in the process of converting its registration to permanent status.

Further Education:

(1 year certificate)

COPA is fully accredited with CATHSSETA for its Further Education and Training (FET) programmes. (Bridging Courses and NQF4 qualifications)

2. What qualification will I receive once I complete my course?
Higher Education:

(3 year Diploma in Music) [SAQA ID: 96373]

Upon successful completion of the 3 year programme you will receive a 360-credit NQF6 Diploma in Music from COPA (360 credits).

4. What are the entry requirements?

The requirements differ for each qualification offered. Please see the audition form for the course you are interested in under APPLY NOW for the relevant requirements.

Student Experience Related Questions:
1. What is there to do on campus between classes?

All of our campuses have Resource Centres equipped with computers and WI-FI for student use. There are also rehearsal facilities and demo rooms that can be booked.

2. What exposure will I get to the industry as an artist?

COPA has regular industry events and masterclasses. COPA’s latest initiative, COPA Radio, will give opportunities for all streams at COPA to broadcast nationally via its blog radio.

3. Does COPA offer accommodation?

COPA unfortunately does not offer accommodation. Feel free to contact the campus to find out if they can provide you with possible accommodation leads.

4. What initiatives are there on campus for me to be a part of?

Each campus has a Student Representative Council (SRC) that heads up various projects and events for the students at their campus, including a charity initiative.

COPA Radio is a blog radio station running at all the campuses giving all students a platform to put into practice what they are learning.

Taste of the Talent is a compilation of students’ music which is made available to interested record companies.

COPA ConneXion gives students a platform to engage with industry opportunities as and when they arise.
